android - Use the same package name with the new app version? -

I have an Android app in the Play Store. I use a new project (I want to do everything again) By taxing a new version of an app that uses the same package name, if I publish this new version of the app then will the user receive it as an update? I know that this is a Naob question, but I want to be sure. Thnx
